The first morning of our trip opened with sunny skies and record-breaking temperatures reaching into the high 80s and low 90s. A dozen or so intrepid sailors embarked from Camden Inner Harbor on a day hike to the 820 foot high summit of Mount Battie overlooking the Penobscot Bay. The view was stunning, with the vista encompassing all of Camden Harbor, many of the bay's 200 islands, and visibility of landmarks as far as 25 miles away.
