The Memorial weekend trip features three days on the water, with pre boarding the evening of Friday the 25th. We have three boats waiting for us from Annapolis Bay Charters at Port Annapolis Marina in Annapolis. In addition to all the normal fun that we have sailing together, we have set out to make this trip very special…a rejuvenation of mind, body & spirit!

Saturday morning begins, for those who choose, with some good morning yoga stretches on the dock with an instructor for first timers. After boat checkouts and breakfast, we depart Annapolis, crossing the bay to Eastern Bay and the Wye River. It’s about 25 nautical miles and it shouldn’t be a problem moving at five knots as we reach across the bay. Our destination is Shaw Bay…a beautiful cove, just a five-mile stones throw from St. Michaels. We’ll raft up, so plan on hors’douvres for dinner. That evening we are planning some quiet contemplation after another beautiful day on the water together. Join in with a favorite poem, prayer or reading of your own…all this followed by an ancient ritual that will set you free!

After a leisurely breakfast on Sunday morning, we set sail for St. Michaels where we plan to spend the afternoon and evening. There are bicycle rentals, shops and many restaurants, including the famous  Crab Claw , so plan on dinner out. For those who haven’t been before, you can check out www.stmichaelsmd.org. The Chesapeake Maritime Museum is a must and you can learn more about it at www.cbmm.org . The Club has included dockage at the St. Michaels Harbour Inn, Marina & Spa... a mini resort with swimming pool, restaurant and spa (www.harbourinn.com). In an effort to address the “ body “ aspect of the human equation, we will make reservations, for those who desire, for massage, facials, manicures, etc.
It’s the perfect time and place to indulge yourself! Check it out at www.spaatharbourinn.com

On Sunday morning we head out, back across the bay with our spirits completely refreshed. The trip is again about 25 miles. With minds, bodies and spirits rejuvenated, the drive home at the end of the holiday weekend will seem effortless.

The cost of the trip is $385.00 per person (Skippers - $205.00). This price covers charter fees, slip fees and insurance. Food, fuel, and other incidental expenses are additional and will be handled by each boat’s crew. Full payment is required at signup. Please make your check payable to The Sailing Club, Inc. and mail it, along with your completed reservation form , to Robert Lipman at the address below. Reservations will be processed beginning April 13, 2007 with a random draw of those received by that date. All reservations received after that date are on a first-come, first-served basis.

A pre-trip meeting will be held at a time and place to be announced. All crewmembers should make every effort to attend in order to meet your crewmates, plan your meals, and make travel plans.
