Three Catamarans will set sail through the Abacos, a string of islands and cays in the northern Bahamas. With a laid back, low key attitude that will offer what is arguably-

the clearest water in the world.

Here’s a sailing vacation that takes you to the original Caribbean. No cruise ships, big crowds or big hotels. As the Bahamians say     “When you come here, you start out slow, then you taper off.”

It's the Sailing Club's annual trip to the warm waters.

The average daytime temperature in November is 81 degrees with steady trade winds. And because our cruising area, the Sea of Abaco, lies between barrier islands and Great Abaco Island, the water is generally flat - ideal cruising conditions.

These islands, originally settled by Revolutionary War Loyalists, offer great sailing, great beaches, reefs and shipwrecks for snorkeling and diving, wandering quaint villages and sampling the local fare at great restaurants.

Airline service from Newark (American and Continental) to Marsh Harbour is quick and easy. It is about an eight minute cab ride from the airport to the Sunsail/Moorings base where our three catamarans will be located.

Our general itinerary will look like this.

Day 1: Arrive in Marsh Harbour for a welcoming party and sleep aboard.

star fish Day 2: 10 nm to Bakers Bay, Is an old destination for the Disney cruise ships and a great beach where you can find lots of star fish.

older loyalist style home green turtle Day 3: 12 nm to Green Turtle Cay(pronounced key) A choice of a marina or a mooring ball next to a quaint, preserved Loyalist town.

nippers great guana cay Day 4:15 nm to Guana Cay, marina or anchorage and a chance to let loose at Nippers bar & grill. Nippers sits high up on a cliff looking down on the ocean, has a pool, a real party atmosphere and can pour a lot of alcohol. Check out the website http://www.nippersbar.com/“ It’s not in any of the Brochures”

jpetes pub Day 5: 13 nm to White Sound, has a choice of good restaurants and big surf beaches on the ocean side.

Day 6: 20 nm to Little Harbour, pick up moorings and dinghy to Pete’s Pub & Foundry. If you can't party here, you don’t know how to party.

light house Day 7: 19 nm to Hope Town. Whenever you see pictures of the Abacos, you always see a picture of the famous candy striped lighthouse; that is Hope Town. It is another Loyalist town, quaint, colorful, interesting architecture (and beaches and bars).

Day 8: 7 nm back to Marsh Harbour and a short (40 minute) flight back to mainland US.

This trip will be a good opportunity to escape the New Jersey November blahs and generate some good times and memories.

Remember - "When you get older, you will regret the things you didn't do more than the things you did do"

Don’t Miss out on these exciting things to see and do.
