This is the weekend you’ve been waiting for – a chance to get back on the water and to hone the skills you haven’t had a chance to use since last season. Last year’s event was a sell out with a wait list, so don’t wait to get on board.

You’ve asked for more time on the water to practice so we have listened and added another day. Three days instead of two. The price is only $50 more for an additional day. Life is good!

This year’s OWT will provide the traditional exercises in line handling while leaving and approaching docks, slips and moorings; rafting and separating, as well as anchoring techniques. A seminar on effective communication, along with reviews of boating skills and teamwork are also planned.

Tentative agenda:

Thursday, boarding around 4pm if boats are available. Dinner in town

1.       Day 1, Friday April 24,8am – 12pm - what is expected; Classroom-safety, boat handling, communication, knots, rules of the road. PM-practice drills, 5 pm debriefing

2.       Day 2, Saturday April 25, 8am-12pm, classroom-anchoring, rafting, general navigation, sail trim. PM practice drills, possible anchor out over night.

3.       Day 2, Sunday April 26, 08:30 to 15:30 – Lecture- MOB’s, more communication continued practice

The cost of this event is $350.00 per person. This price covers charter fees and insurance. Food, fuel, and other incidental expenses are additional and will be handled by each boat’s crew. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, and the full amount is required at signup. Please make your check payable to The Sailing Club, Inc. and mail it, along with your completed reservation form, to the address below.
