This is the weekend you’ve been waiting for – a chance to get back on the water and to hone the skills you haven’t had a chance to use since last season. Last year’s event was a sell out with a wait list, so don’t wait to get on board.

This year’s OWT will provide the traditional exercises in line handling while leaving and approaching docks, slips and moorings; rafting and separating, as well as anchoring techniques.  A discussion of effective communication, along with reviews of boating skills, including sail trim and teamwork are also planned.

Tentative agenda:

Friday, early boarding around 4pm if boats are available. Dinner in town with friends and crew.  Then

1.  Friday May 4, 9pm – Discussion of the effects of wind, current, prop walk, in maneuvering and approaches

2.  Saturday May 5, 8:00 AM - Boat systems overview, crew communication, essential knots. Under power exercises.

3.  Sunday May 6, 08:30 to 15:30 – Under sail – sail trim, man overboard, heave to. Anchoring and rafting drills.

The cost of this event is $250.00 per person. This price covers charter fees and insurance. Food, fuel, and other incidental expenses are additional and will be handled by each boat’s crew. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, and the FULL AMOUNT is required at signup.  Please make your check payable to The Sailing Club, Inc. and mail it, along with your completed reservation form, to Larry Sherwood at the address below.  The Club’s standard cancellation policy applies for this event.
