The Sailing Club prides itself on its strong safety record and successful trips, largely attributed to the stringent processes in place for identifying, training, and promoting skippers and first mates. Oversight of these processes falls under the Training Coordinator, who reports to the Vice Commodore. Any procedures or advancements must receive approval from the Board of Trustees. Additionally, a volunteer committee may assist with training activities as necessary.

Individuals desiring advancement to command positions such as

• First Mate

• Skipper

• Senior Skipper

must follow well-defined procedures. These procedures detail the specific steps and requirements for aspiring First Mates, Skippers, and Senior Skippers to attain these positions within the Club.
