In late 2023 leadership of The Sailing Club embraced the reality that our venerable website was just that: Respectable, but old fashioned. Based on the principle that our public face needs the visitor to want to come sail with us the moment they land on it, a blend of creative and technical members of the board of trustees undertook this project.

Without losing our 40-year history, we wanted to be as vivacious and inviting today as our predecessors were in the 1990s.

This website was developed and is maintained using tools provided by our hosting platform, Squarespace. To meet our maintainability goal, we use no custom code. Any moderately experienced website developer (and who isn’t one, these days) can take on the job of maintaining the site.

Our typeface is the very readable and friendly Poppins. Our color palette speaks of water and open spaces.

All images are either member-provided or royalty free stock images provided through Squarespace.

Our logo was designed by an unknown member in the 1990s and digitized some years later. The typeface is Goudy Oldstyle BT. It continues to serve us well.
